Our Care Partners are highly trained in clinical care and the most recent advances in Alzheimer’s care. Additionally, they are mentored by a full-time Program Director, Cheryl Ferguson, MSW, and Medical Director, Dr. Sumer Verma. Cypress Street is a secured neighborhood for those individuals who tend to wander. Families feel assured that their loved one is safe.
Cheryl facilitates two Alzheimer’s support groups. These are held monthly at Briarwood. One is for our families of our Cypress residents. The other support group caters to people in the community experiencing the challenges of living with a loved one who has Alzheimer’s. Feel free to contact Cheryl for more details. 781-449-4040 x-124
You have Options!
Briarwood specializes in Alzheimer’s Care.
We understand that there are different needs of families dealing with this disease.
Therefore, we have created our Options Program.
Option 1: Planning for Care
When a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease or exhibits symptoms of dementia, it is time to plan for care. Briarwood Outreach is free! Choosing this option will provide you with information and education about Alzheimer’s,
access to a home safety assessment, and assistance with referrals to
home care and support services.
Option 2: Respite Care
Providing loving care at home is demanding. In order to continue providing that care, consideration of yourself is a necessity. The best way to do this is to take a break. If you have other family obligations or going on vacation, the respite care option may be for you. This option provides individuals with Alzheimer ’s Disease or
other Dementias a brief stay on Cypress Street affords you “peace of mind.”
Option 3: Extended Care
Families living with Alzheimer’s Disease and caring for that special person may eventually be unable to manage at home. In this event, extended care on Cypress Street may be the answer. Our Alzheimer’s Program Director can tour with you and explain what the program has to offer you and your loved one.
